Foresta's Motto

Our motto represents our beliefs and values as educators who uphold understanding as the standard for having a fulfilling life; facing challenges and embracing change to make our world a better and balanced place to live in.

Who we Are

Somos Foresta

Foresta represents an ambitious educational project that combines important experts in the area of international education with challenging and rigorous programs, both of which are at the forefront of education. Furthermore, students’ learning takes place within an incomparable space designed to inspire. This combination makes Foresta a unique enterprise that has never been seen or implemented in Mexico.

The motivation behind our name comes from the unique characteristics of a forest; a rich ecosystem with endless possibilities, where every component is important for it to remain sustainable. This is why our learning community, just like a forest, is formed by a team that works collaboratively to offer high-quality international education. Foresta is a place where students are encouraged to become lifelong learners that fuel their own transformation in an ever-changing world.

Foresta International School inspires students to become reflective leaders by stimulating a deeper understanding of themselves and the world around them. They are empowered to develop their own natural talents and collaborative skills to become lifelong learners who are able to transform their environment.

Vision Foresta

Foresta International School was created to be the best option for international education in the northern part of Mexico City, developing internationally-minded leaders who will learn to work in partnership with others in an innovative environment and who have an impact on the world around them.

Foresta Education

Education at Foresta is based upon the IB (International Baccalaureate IB S061450 candidate school) methodology, which is an international program founded in Geneva, Switzerland in 1968. The objective of the program focuses on developing internationally-minded people who share with others the outlook of creating a better, more peaceful world through education.

At Foresta, we believe in building meaning through an education based on concepts, providing our learners with the necessary tools to face and renovate the world. We highlight each of our learners’ values and unique talents through our comprehensive and personalized programs.

Our preschool program is a child-centered, comprehensive approach to early education which follows the IB Primary Years Program (PYP). Our stimulating programs, PYP and Second Step, provide children with the tools and skills that are essential to successfully adapting to and benefitting from the challenging learning experiences provided by the school.

Our highly-experienced and qualified teachers instill a lifelong love for learning in each child through a planned balance between play, inquiry, and stimulating learning experiences, all within our nurturing educational environment.

The elementary school is designed to build upon the learners’ prior knowledge and understanding. Structured inquiry helps learners to reflect upon and understand the world.

Our program focuses on the child as an inquirer, both in the classroom and in the outside world. This program follows the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Program (PYP), a curriculum framework designed for students ages 3 to 12.

The PYP prepares students for the intellectual challenges of further education and their future careers. The PYP curriculum is centered on six areas of instruction: language arts, social studies, math, science, the arts, and physical education. Learning is transdisciplinary in nature, with six units of inquiry being studied throughout each grade level. Each unit of inquiry guides students to gain an understanding of a central idea, which is the foundation of studies across all subjects. Our language arts program is designed to allow students to become confident, competent readers and writers in English, Spanish, and French. There is a strong focus on the use of integrated technology within each unit of inquiry.

Middle school

Middle school

In our junior high school students will continue to develop as internationally-minded people (MYP-IB). Subject areas start taking a very important role and so does interdisciplinary work. Students engage in motivating yet rigorous learning experiences that lead them to acquire and develop different lifelong skills relevant to this important stage of life.

By the end of junior high school, students are required to present a personal project chosen by them; a project that faces them with real-life situations which moves them to start realizing their areas of expertise while thinking about their future professions.

Complementary Program

Our complementary program has been carefully designed to enrich and advance our learners’ creativity and to stimulate healthy socialization skills by covering our Physical-and-artistic program and offering sports, arts, and language classes.
